Remuera Baptist Kindergarten
Remuera Baptist Kindergarten is a community-based kindergarten, welcoming children from all cultures and faiths. We offer a variety of enrolment options for children ages 2 -5 years in a nurturing and enriching environment, with experienced, dedicated and qualified staff.
Remuera Baptist Kindergarten was established in 1982, the Kowhai room was opened in 2010. We operate under a full day license but also offer morning and afternoon sessions in both our Kauri and Kowhai rooms.
Our rooms offer fun and stimulating learning opportunities, reflecting the holistic way that children learn and grow, guided by the Early Childhood Curriculum Te Whāriki.
We develop close and respectful relationships with families through communication about their child, and by welcoming them to participate in various aspects of the centres programme. Every year we also hold Whanau week to welcome the wider family at the centre.
The Kowhai Room
The Kowhai Room, for our younger children, offers safe and secure environment where children and their whanau settle and develop a sense of belonging and trust, in what might be their first early childhood experience.
The Kauri Room
The Kauri Room, for older children, offers a range of opportunities for independence, choice and autonomy, while supporting children in their endeavours.
The Pohutakawa - Pathways to School
Pathways to School, held in the Pohutukawa room, is offered to the 4-year olds. It provides a stimulating and supportive environment based on Te Whāriki, where authentic literacy and numeracy practices are woven into all aspects of children’s learning. Within this environment children develop learner qualities, that provide for a smooth transition to school and cultivate lifelong learning.
